Allergy Immunotherapy: Long-Term Relief with Allergy Shots

Tired of relying on daily pills and nasal sprays just to get through the day? Allergy shots don't just mask your symptoms, they fundamentally change how your body reacts to triggers, offering lasting, natural relief.

What is Immunotherapy (Allergy Shots)?

Allergy shots are a clinically proven, long-term treatment that actually alters your immune system. By introducing tiny, gradually increasing amounts of your specific allergens (like pollen, pet dander, or dust mites) into your body, we train your immune system to stop overreacting. Over time, you build up a natural tolerance, meaning your symptoms fade away and your need for daily medication drops drastically.

What patients can expect:

Most patients notice meaningful symptom improvement. Some within the first few months, and the majority by the time they reach monthly maintenance doses.

The Science of Custom Care

Allergy shots are not a one-size-fits-all prescription. Based on your specific test results, your allergist will custom-formulate your treatment vials in our specialized lab, ensuring your body gets the exact right concentration to safely build tolerance to your allergic triggers.

What to expect at your visit

Step 1

Build-Up

We start with a very low, safe dose of your allergens. You will visit the clinic regularly (usually 1-2 times a week) for a quick injection, gradually increasing the concentration to safely train your immune system.

Step 2

Maintenance

Once your body reaches the target dose, your visits drop significantly - usually to just once a month. This is when most patients notice a noticeable improvement in their symptoms.

Step 3

Lasting Relief

After completing treatment (typically 3 to 5 years of maintenance shots), the majority of patients enjoy lasting relief for years after their final injection.

Not sure what you need?

That's exactly what we're here for. You don't need to have it all figured out before you see us. Book a general consultation, tell us your symptoms, and our specialists will guide you to the right tests and treatments.

Answering your questions

Everything you need to know about our bespoke, patient-centered approach to your health.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To provide you with the best possible care, we use a direct intake process. Please fill out our New Patient Booking Form linked on this site, and our front desk will email or call you directly to secure your appointment time.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans, and you'll always be treated as a person, not just a number. Plans we accept include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, Priority Health, HAP, Aetna, Cigna, Humana Medicare Advantage, Molina, McLaren, Original Medicare and Michigan Medicaid. We don't accept UnitedHealthcare or Silver Saver plans.

See our full list of accepted insurance plans, or call (248) 546-9100 to confirm your coverage.

How long will my first visit take?

You should expect to spend about an hour and a half to two hours at your initial visit. Unlike other clinics where you might only see a doctor for 15 minutes, we take the time to go over every potential allergic disorder and conduct all necessary testing.

What makes your approach different from other allergists?

We offer an "academic experience" similar to what you would find at major university hospitals like Northwestern or Harvard, right here in the Detroit suburbs. We follow evidence-based medicine while keeping the patient at the absolute center of the experience.

What specialized procedures do you perform?

In addition to standard allergy care, we offer advanced procedures that many local allergists do not perform. These include supervised drug and food challenges (administering a medicine or food in-clinic to verify an allergy) and desensitization protocols (slowly building up your tolerance to a specific medication).
