Food Allergy Testing & Treatment

Food allergies shouldn't control your life or turn every meal into a source of anxiety. We provide accurate diagnoses, clear safety plans, and advanced treatments so you and your family can navigate the world safely.

What is Food Allergy Care?

We evaluate and manage food allergies in both children and adults, moving past the guesswork of unpredictable reactions. By providing an accurate diagnosis, hands-on education, and a clear plan for safe daily living, we empower you to take control. For eligible patients, we also offer advanced biologic therapy as part of a comprehensive treatment approach to reduce the risk of severe reactions.

What patients can expect:

Clarity on exactly which foods must be strictly avoided and which are safe to eat.

Your Partners in Food Safety

Diagnosing a food allergy requires precision: false positives from standard tests can lead to unnecessary, stressful diets. Our Board-Certified Allergists combine advanced clinical testing with detailed medical history to get it exactly right. We don't just hand you a list of foods to avoid; we equip you with the education, emergency plans, and medical tools you need to live safely.

What to expect at your visit

Step 1

The Evaluation

We start with a detailed history of your reactions, followed by precise skin or blood testing to identify potential triggers without relying on unnecessary dietary restrictions.

Step 2

The Diagnosis

If results are inconclusive, or if we suspect a child has outgrown an allergy, we conduct a safely monitored Oral Food Challenge right in our clinic to know for sure.

Step 3

The Safety Plan

You leave with a concrete action plan. This includes education on reading food labels, a customized emergency anaphylaxis plan, and an assessment for advanced treatments like biologic therapy.

Not sure what you need?

That's exactly what we're here for. You don't need to have it all figured out before you see us. Book a general consultation, tell us your symptoms, and our specialists will guide you to the right tests and treatments.

Answering your questions

Everything you need to know about our bespoke, patient-centered approach to your health.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To provide you with the best possible care, we use a direct intake process. Please fill out our New Patient Booking Form linked on this site, and our front desk will email or call you directly to secure your appointment time.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans, and you'll always be treated as a person, not just a number. Plans we accept include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, Priority Health, HAP, Aetna, Cigna, Humana Medicare Advantage, Molina, McLaren, Original Medicare and Michigan Medicaid. We don't accept UnitedHealthcare or Silver Saver plans.

See our full list of accepted insurance plans, or call (248) 546-9100 to confirm your coverage.

How long will my first visit take?

You should expect to spend about an hour and a half to two hours at your initial visit. Unlike other clinics where you might only see a doctor for 15 minutes, we take the time to go over every potential allergic disorder and conduct all necessary testing.

What makes your approach different from other allergists?

We offer an "academic experience" similar to what you would find at major university hospitals like Northwestern or Harvard, right here in the Detroit suburbs. We follow evidence-based medicine while keeping the patient at the absolute center of the experience.

What specialized procedures do you perform?

In addition to standard allergy care, we offer advanced procedures that many local allergists do not perform. These include supervised drug and food challenges (administering a medicine or food in-clinic to verify an allergy) and desensitization protocols (slowly building up your tolerance to a specific medication).
